The “Hall Abierto” project as a mechanism for access to the arts and cultures

This article aims to revisit the experience of the Open Hall outreach project at the Faculty of Arts of the UNCPBA (National University of Central Buenos Aires). Through exhibitions guided by the principles of affective curatorship, cultural mediation, and cultural citizenship, this initiative seeks to promote access to the arts and the participation of new audiences by transforming the institutional hall into a cultural, pedagogical, and political space. Collaboration with the educational system and social organizations has fostered significant experiences of collective creation and reflection, redefining the university space as a shared, open, and democratic territory. Examples of exhibitions such as Carnivals and Democracies and Villa Aguirre in Memory demonstrate its territorial impact. With over ten years of operation, the Open Hall has established itself as a critical outreach practice and a guarantor of cultural rights.
