Abstract

Adaptation from literature is and has always been a controversial issue. Translation from one language to another is always a challenge and implies a risk. Nonetheless, any film adaptation should look after the result, to ensure it is the most suitable for the screen, regardless of the fidelity towards the book. Thesis on a homicide (2013) is a good example of this. The film by Hernán Goldfrid is a genre film that simplifies the novel by Diego Paszkowski for the sake of the environment in which it is displayed and the audience that is targeted, both from the story as from the narrative techniques.
