Abstract

Although there have been important advances in recent years, art criticism with a gender perspective is still a pending task in Colombia. Since 2009, the author has been making some approaches to the history of art and the works of contemporary artists from this perspective. The questions that have led her research aim to reveal the genesis of the genre system in the Colombian visual tradition, the discourses that sustain it and the margins where its mandates have been challenged and relativized. In its beginnings, research privileged the works that had openly feminist view, but each time it is more open to all those expressions that problematize gender, dis-locating and questioning from trenches that are sometimes more subtle, although they are no less harmless
