City, memory, heritage: The case of heritage preservation in La Plata.

Abstract

The discussion about the preservation of cultural heritage in the historical domain is relatively recent. However, when referring to memory spaces, the role of the historian is undeniably essential in these researches since memory is a sine qua non in the historiographical field. In this sense, this paper presents some partial considerations about the process of preserving cultural heritage in La Plata city in 1982-2008.
