Abstract

This paper aims to analyze some of the different theatrical events during the period 1970-2007 in the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia. For such purposes, we take as an object the plays performed in that city, their playwrights and actors, with the purpose of observing changes and continuities of this discipline, as well as a comprehension of the shaping process of this theatrical field. We have also considered preliminary studies and various documents of journalistic criticism that have been elaborated about the shows performed, as well as interviews with playwrights and witnesses during the analysed period.
