Circle Mirror Transformation, from Annie Baker by Javier Daulte: a transformation of identities

Abstract

The proposal of this paper is to analyze the play Circle Mirror Transformationby Annie Baker, directed in Buenos Aires by Javier Daulte, which remained on show at Paseo La Plaza during the period 2011-2012. To explain the argentine adaptation, we will build on the description of the dramatic text, with references to the poetics of the American playwright, and on the production by Daulte, enhanced by his testimony regarding his creative process and his personal interpretation of the text he chose to direct.
