Abstract

This article deals with the implied political criticisms made by a group of intellectuals from the Sur journal during the second Presidency of Perón (1952-1955). The analysis is positioned over a context of accumulated tension between peronism and the opposition. We discuss the existence of the relationship of intellectuals and politics, which was denied by the intellectuals. Also, this article deals with the symbolic struggle for the cultural territory between this intellectual elite and peronism and the final estrangement of this elite from their almost hegemonic role within the field of Argentine culture.
