This article aims to explore the Argentine punk movement of the late eighties, through a critical analysis of the documentary Heroxs del 88 (2019), directed by Luis Hitoshi Díaz. In this production, the director delves into the details of the creation of the Invasión 88 album, which we believe functioned as a watershed in the history of vernacular punk. In the tour through the bands included in the album, we identify those formed in the late seventies and early eighties, such as Los Laxantes and Los Baraja. Also mentioned are bands of later formation that, despite their later influence, did not manage to remain active, such as División Autista, Exeroica, Comando Suicida, Defensa y Justicia, Rigidez Cadavérica and Conmoción Cerebral. Finally, we highlight those bands that emerged at the end of the decade that managed to last in the nineties and even remain in force until today, such as Flema and Attaque 77.
