Abstract

This article explores the process of creating an audiovisual piece on rural women, based on the research journey undertaken by a team of historians from the Interdisciplinary Center for Political, Social, and Legal Studies of the Faculty of Human Sciences at UNICEN, in the rural community of La Constancia (Ayacucho district). The investigation began at the end of 2019 as part of a project on the dynamics of settl ement and depopulation in the rural areas of southeastern Buenos Aires and the impact of the railway on these transformations. During the research, we discovered something initially unexpected: settl ers who described new ways of living in that rural space. In this work, we will present the diffe rent stages of this journey. First, we will discuss each approach to the La Constancia area and our objectives. In the second stage, we will focus on the characteristics of the interviews with these rural women and the context in which the idea of creating an audiovisual piece was conceived. Finally, we will analyze some images that emerged from this research journey, such as places, colors, sounds, and voices.
