Community Artistic Practices

Abstract

This text analyzes the work of six community groups in Mexico from the questions: how do feminist practices work from community work? And, can there be a feminist practice of co-research that breaks with the coloniality of knowledge in contemporary artistic practices? The text is divided into three sections. The first discusses the relationship between feminism and artistic practices in current Mexico. The second explores five communities that, through artistic practices, break oppressive patriarchal processes. The third talks about the work experience of a project that collaborates with the five communities considered in the second section.
