Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • In the case of sending the text to the peer evaluation section, the following instructions are followed to ensure an anonymous evaluation:
Efforts should be made to ensure that authors and reviewers do not know each other's identities. This implies that authors, editors and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) check whether the following steps have been followed carefully regarding the text and file properties:

The authors of the paper have their names removed from the text, with "Author" and the year used in references and footnotes instead of the authors' names, title of the article, etc.
In Microsoft Office documents, author ids should also be removed from the file properties.

    Click the "Problem Check" icon.

Uncheck all the boxes except "Document properties and personal information".
Run the document inspector, which will perform a search on the document properties and indicate whether any document property fields contain any information.
If the document inspector finds any information it will notify you and give you the option to "Delete All" which you will have to click to remove all document properties and personal information.

    From Word 2016 onwards (Windows):
    Go to "File"
    Select "Information"
