Walking into “colectivo”: Independent film from Córdoba
Keywords:
independent film, collective production, horizontality, politics, identitiesAbstract
In this work we look into the specific audiovisual practices held by four groups of young people, many of them students or recent graduates from the National University of Cordoba (UNC). In these cases we recognize the development of an artistic and audiovisual movement which follows the precepts of horizontality in decision making. Furthermore, these groups recognize everyday life as a privileged area to explore narratively and aesthetically.
Proceeding from a heterogeneous and plural point of view, we will focus on experiences which make explicit a reflective intervention, most of them aiming to transform community processes and also, to create networks with other organizations (as is the case of the collective Tagua: Organización Cultural Comunitaria); other experiences are mostly linked to artists who take risks in what we see as a horizontal and participative way of filmmaking through the entirety of the stages of the audiovisual artistic process (Niño Raro; Colectivo Ceromilímetro); finally, we will also delve into a case that urges us to debate forms of exhibition and distribution of the works of independent filmmakers (Cine a la intemperie).
